Akira (1988) is a very interesting movie. It’s a movie that has inspired and moved so many parts of popular culture both in the west and the east that it has now become a staple classic talked alongside movies such as The Godfather and Pulp Fiction. The movie brings a lot of questions to the table and aims to explore things such as nuclear weapons and the ethics behind them, and whether God exists and what would happen if humans had the same power as an all-powerful being. This was my first time watching this film and I honestly wish I hadn’t. There was nothing wrong with the film, it was just how I experienced it.
