Dubs vs Subs- an Introduction

Being born in 1996 and growing up through the early noughties had many impacts on my upbringing; I was given a PS2 for my tenth birthday which influenced my gaming habits, heelies were a thing (which sadly has fallen out of fashion, and i never mastered), and most importantly, I got to witness the golden era of morning television that was Cheez TV. Now what’s so important about Cheez TV you ask? Well my friends, here is a short list:

  • Pokémon
  • Beyblades
  • One Piece
  • Dragon Ball Z
  • Sonic X
  • Digimon
  • Yu Gi Oh!
  • Sailor Moon

As you can see through each of these shows, Anime formed a large portion of my childhood and has even influence my viewing habits to this day.   1. Hey Jesse another great blog post! I was also given a ps2 when I was young and I remember playing ratchet and clank for hours with my brother haha! I really like the use of storify and after reading your blog I incorporated it into my own blog because of its ease of use and accessibility. I think your aspect where you focus on the access of anime is really good. My (very limited) understanding is that most anime is mostly streamed online therefore I think it’s interesting that Kuromukuro is featured on Netflix – a good point raised. I also enjoyed the comparison you brought to watching Kuromukuro and your previous anime shows like Naruto and One Piece. Looking forward to what thoughts you will delve into further for your next blog.
