A couple years back now, when I was in year 10 in high school, a once in a lifetime opportunity arose. My high school had teamed up with a program that connected students on school trips to volunteer work in under privileged provinces in Vietnam. It wasn’t just your typical person volunteers while staying in luxury accommodation out of town, it was a real experience. We were living in a village community. We were sleeping, eating, building houses and gaining life long memories that left a lot of us changed.

When building homes as a 15 year old student with other classmates, we were totally immersed in the culture and lifestyle. The families were around, and we got to watch their faces light up and hand over their home. It was an unimaginable feeling!
